The newly developed Octaface V and Octaface D have an expanded hitting area to fit the variation in striking points of advanced and average golfers. The newly-developed orbit shaft achieves a level, upper head path due to the next-generation flex that was created by analyzing 10 locations. The r.p.m. concept establishes vertical gear effect, and gives the ball optimal spin. The unique, high-performance inpres X promises unimaginable flight. Graphite Design Tour AD DI-6
The flex of the entire shaft was emphasized, and the tip area makes full use of nanotechnology from Torey Industries, Inc. Using a highly-elasticized resin minimizes head movement on impact for deeper, more resonant impact. This next-generation shaft increases control even more by maintaining flex throughout the entire shaft during the swing and creating an image that the ball is pushed on impact. |

New Face Structure

| Focusing on the strike point variation among both average and advanced golfers showed that advanced golfers' strike points vary in a vertical direction on the center of the face, and average golfers' strike points vary in an oval from the lower part of the heel to the top of the toe. Based on these results, we used a differently structured face design for the V model and the D model. We simultaneously expanded the hitting area, and helped increase average distances. |

| Back Spin |
|
Golfers hit further and more accurately on the fairway with backspin optimized for their style.
How should the impact point be brought closer to the COG? Should the optimal backspin be held to around 2,500 rpm? The inpres X drivers excellent flight and control comes from the r.p.m. concept, which realizes the optimal backspin through ideal COG depth and height.
The Relataionship Between Flight Distance and Backspin
We measured the flight distance and spin with a Trackman radar trajectory measurement device, and analyzed the relationship. These measurements showed us the maximum distance was achieved with a backspin of around 2,500 rpm. The r.p.m. concept gives the inpres X drivers ideal backspin.
If the ball hit by a driver has too much spin, it floats up and distance is lost. In addition, if there isn't enough spin, the ball does not gain enough ascending force. The ball drops and the carry does not increase, so the golfer does not get the desired distance. About 2,500 rpm gives both efficient distance and control. |
